Sept. 27, '24: Company visit Skilpod

Skilpod's mission is to turn the construction world on its head. The company believes that building your own home can be done differently. Without stress and hassle, in a smarter way.

They strive for a world where home ownership is not reserved for the happy few, but everyone has access to a stylish and decent home. Without compromises on price, quality or sustainability. They do this by building homes turnkey in a "housing factory" and then assembling them in a matter of days where needed.

Skilpod was founded in 2012 by Filip Timmermans (engineer) and Jan Vrijs (lawyer). The company started small and built one-off custom private projects. However, this way was not scalable.

Thanks to investors Vanroey, Futech and the Welfare Fund, they have been able to go full steam ahead in recent years. Today they are building houses and apartments that they have finished to perfection beforehand. Not tiny houses or temporary care homes, but real, fully-fledged homes. They do this for individuals, social profit organizations and small or large investors.

The Belgian Corporate Finance Association (BCFA) organized an inspiring company visit to Skilpod in Geel, where members were able to experience up close how Skilpod aims to innovate the construction world.

Skilpod builds complete homes in an innovative "housing factory," which are then installed on site within days-an impressive concept with a strong corporate finance story, supported by PMV's Prosperity Fund.

After the visit, there was ample opportunity to network and exchange experiences over lunch.

The result? A successful day full of inspiration and valuable connections!

Thanks to Jan Vrijs for the warm welcome!
